Nancy (Kay) Rentz went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the age of 81. She passed away peacefully after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Kay was born in San Antonio, Texas to John and Kathleen Martin on January 19, 1936.
Kay graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1954. She met her husband of 61 years, Robert (Buddy) Rentz at San Antonio College in 1955. They married the following year. In 1967 they moved to the Boerne area where they raised their five children. In 1992 she and Buddy moved from Boerne to Rockport, Texas where they lived most of the time until returning in 2013 to the Texas Hill Country northwest of Pipe Creek.
Kay is survived by her husband, Robert (Buddy) Rentz; Brother John Martin Jr; 2 sons, Brad and Wade Rentz; 3 daughters, June Maltsberger, Margie Hay, and Donna Stewart; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, John and Kathleen Martin, her sister, Elizabeth Ann Hale, and nephew Magruder Hale.
