Nancy P. Rothenberg, 60, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick. She was born on October 13, 1961, to Richard and Dolores Byrd. She was a loving mother and made a wonderful home for her children. In the words of her son Joshua “My mom was the most selfless person I had ever met. She consistently went out her way for the people she cared about. She was always there with a helping hand when you needed it or a stern word when that was what you needed. My mom did not mince words or tip toe around what needed to be said, she spoke her mind, all the way to the end. If she did not like something she let you know. My mom created a home for my brother and I. I will never be able to express the amount of gratitude I have for her. My mom’s greatest achievement was in raising me, my brother and my sister and hopefully we will be able to live in her footsteps and raise children as well as she did. Thankfully I have a lot of wisdom to fall back on, I love you Mom. May you live on in our hearts and continue to provide us the guidance we need to live on. I love you.”

Nancy is predeceased by her parents, her brother Ned Byrd, and his wife Charlene. She is survived by her children Candice Ladd and her husband Brian, Joshua Rothenberg, and Jeremy Rothenberg, her grandchildren Ethan Ladd and Gemma Gracie Ladd, her siblings Lillian Vita, and her husband John, Larry Byrd, Terry Perkins, and Tracy Byrd, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
