Nancy Marie Schmidt passed away peacefully after laughter and goodbyes with loved ones at the age of 91 on Friday, February 5th, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Born Vincenza Maria DeMarco on July 17th, 1929, in Plainfield, New Jersey to Caterina (Matarazzo) and Giuseppe Demarco, she married Alfred A. Schmidt on May 9th 1959 at St.
Nancy was fiercely independent, adventurous and full of life. She was often found among a group of friends, often the catalyst for laughter and cheer. She could turn a stranger into a friend in minutes. She was a pioneer, organizer, cheerleader and friend. She was a shoulder providing consolation and an inspiration for happiness. She lived life on her terms, with a steadfast and deep faith.
Nancy resided in Plainfiend and Watchung, NJ; Pine Knoll Shores and Morehead City, NC; San Jose and Santa Clara, CA; and Evergreen, CO. She is survived by her son, Alfred G.; her daughter, Lisa Marie; grandchildren Michael and Victoria; and sister Ernestine Campanelli.
