Nancy Marie Banes, born October 9, 1942, passed away August 25, 2022, at the age of 79 in Albuquerque, NM.
She was preceded in death by her parents Virginia and Claude Wylie, husband W. Tom Banes, and brother Alan Wylie.
She is survived by her two children, Stacey Banes, (children Samantha and Megan Finlayson), Brandon Banes, wife Alicia (children Avery, Matthew and Riley), brother Claude Wylie (Julie), brother Kenneth Wylie (Barb), along with many other close relatives and friends.
Her childhood was spent growing up in Albuquerque attending Catholic school and eventually Highland High School. After meeting Tom, they soon were married and started a family. Early on, Nancy was a homeroom mom, Brownie leader, soccer mom, passionate tennis and bridge player. She was a member of the Junior League, volunteered her time to All Faiths Receiving home among other local charities. Her studies in accounting helped her start Banes Lubadraulic with her husband. She went on to manage Weems Winrock Gallery, and then became a successful and longtime Realtor. All these accomplishments were secondary to her true passion, her family. Friends, family and the love of life fueled Nancy as she nurtured all who knew her and instantly became her friend.
