Born in Mount Vernon, Ohio on March 25, 1942, Nancy was the third of ten children. Her family moved to Cheswick, PA where she attended Springdale High School in nearby Springdale, PA.
Nancy worked as a stewardess for Eastern Airlines, enjoying the travel opportunities it provided her.
Nancy met Thomas Weber in St. Paul, Minnesota, marrying him on November 25, 1967. After living in Minnesota for four years, they relocated to Tom’s home state of Iowa. In 1985, their family moved to Colorado when Tom found a new job in Longmont. Nancy always loved seeing the mountains of Colorado and enjoyed living out West. In Colorado, Nancy worked at many different jobs, from executive secretary, to bookkeeper, to housecleaner. She preferred keeping busy and even helped Tom with his activities for the Knights of Columbus, Council #1313. She was instrumental in preparations for the monthly breakfasts hosted by the Knights.
Nancy was a very talented baker, with her signature creations being her angel food cake, cream puffs, and chocolate crazy cake. She would often send Tom into work with her latest efforts and his coworkers appreciated the goodies she made.
At Benefis, Nancy found a new family in her dedicated caregivers and fellow residents. She was often seen making the rounds of Memory Care in her snazzy maroon walker – when she remembered that she needed to use it. She would help out with baking demonstrations, teaching staff the proper way to work with pie crusts and always cleaning up afterward. Her “job” at Benefis was to prepare the clothing protectors that the residents used at mealtimes. Staff members noted that Nancy’s method of rolling the clothing protectors (rather than folding them) was not just space-saving – it was also much prettier.
Nancy’s family would like to offer their most sincere appreciation to the staff of Benefis Eastview Memory Care for their kindness in caring for Nancy over the years. These wonderful people were her family as much as those to whom she was related by blood and are most certainly feeling her loss.
