Nancy Kraftsow Cowan, 70, of Green Mountain Falls, Colo., passed away peacefully on Monday, March 22, 2021. She was born August 5, 1950 in Sellersville, Pa. The daughter of Morton and Charlotte Kraftsow of Weaver, Ala., Nancy was a graduate of Anniston High School, Anniston, Ala. Nancy fell in love with a young Army lieutenant, Danny A. Cowan and eloped in March of 1970. They had a daughter, Stacey, 10 months later and shortly thereafter, Danny was sent to Vietnam. Unfortunately, he did not make it back and perished there leaving Nancy a young mother and widow. In 1973, Nancy, and her friend Chaela, packed their bags and drove across country to Green Mountain Falls where she lived ever since. She spent many years working as the Town Clerk for Green Mountain Falls. Nancy found much joy in gardening at High Valley and became a master gardener.
