Nancy K. McCann, 75, of Bayview Gardens, IL passed away at 1:31 pm on Friday, April 14, 2017 at her residence. She was born on January 24, 1942 in Peoria, IL to Roy John Salander and Mary “Babe” Christoph Mendenhall. She married Willard C. “Red” McCann on December 18, 1981 in Peoria, IL. He passed away on July 21, 1997.
Surviving are her children Douglas (Cindi) Hilst of Vero Beach, FL, Mary (Terry) Sopher of Peoria, IL, Peggy Swadinsky of Peoria Heights, IL, Louise (Jerry) Harr of Bayview Gardens, Lisa (the late Phillip) Tubbs of Mills, PA, and Theresa (Eric) Haynes of Germantown Hills, IL; fourteen grandchildren Jennifer (Jay) Padilla, Amanda (David) Andrews, Brandy Hilst, Douglas Dean Hilst, Josh Corder, Cody Pople, Sami (Adam) Hinthorne, Bobby Jo Tubbs, Nancy Coffman, April Coffman, Kayla (Dan) Baker, Calvin Haynes, Derrick Harr, and Dustin Harr; twenty great-grandchildren and several who knew her by Mammoo; siblings Margaret “Peg” Kandalec, Donna Miles, David (Rachel) Salander, and Mike Krohn; and her beloved dog Thumbalina. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Jake Polston, great-grandson Evan Ramos, and siblings Carol Ann, Barbara Sue, Jackie, and Donald “Buddy” Salander.
Nancy and Red were the owners/operators of the Brass Door/R-Bar-N.
