Nancy Jean (Hearl) Foster, the daughter of Ernest “Bud” and Lucille M. (Dittmer) Foster, was born July 16, 1943 in Oak Park, Illinois. The family moved to the Newton area in 1951, and Nancy has been an area resident ever since. Nancy graduated from Newton High School in 1961.
Nancy was united in marriage with Dennis Foster on July 14, 1962 in Newton. They were blessed with two children, Alan and Deb. Nancy worked at Maytag for 37 1/2 years, most recently as a Supervisor at the receiving dock.
Nancy died Saturday, July 26, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, in 2007; father, Ernest; and brother, Ernest.
Nancy is survived by her son, Alan (Carolyn Hack) of Perry; daughter, Deb (Jeff) Wollam of Marshalltown; 6 grandchildren: Aly Wollam, Ben Wollam, Mikayla Foster, Chantelle Foster, Michael Hack, and Kyle Hack; her mother, Lucille Hearl of Newton; brother, Gary (Linda) Hearl of Newton; her sister, Cindy Reynolds of Newton; and several nieces and nephews.
