After a long illness, Nancy Hunter was finally released into the arms of the Savior she loved on Saturday, December 28th, 2019 at 1:35 pm. Nancy was born to Richard and Nancy Montgomery on September 12th, 1934 in Texas.

Nancy met the love of her life in 1953 working together in a local grocery store and a year later married Theodore “Ted” Hunter. They had four children, Jeffrey, Howard, Holly and James. Nancy’s life was focused on caring for her family and for people. After raising four children she went on to college graduating with high honors (BSN). She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for many years in various departments.

In later years she became a school nurse working in and around the various schools in Galesburg where she became known as “Nurse Nancy”. She loved working with the children. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother and wife, Nancy felt God’s call even though never raised in a religious environment. She sought a safe place where the family could find God. Eventually, all the children and Ted found the opportunity for a relationship with God.When you change a life for Christ, it’s not the life, it’s the legacy that remains.

Nancy’s decision to pursue God has eternal results – survived by her husband, 4 children, 21 grand-children and 16 great-grandchildren, all raised under the Love of Christ. This is Nancy’s legacy: a family who loves God, loves life, loves the needy extending love to others through missions, foster care and adoption.
