Nancy Hipps Garrett, 78, of Burlington died at Twin Lakes Healthcare on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.
A native of Wake County she was the daughter of Willis Carlyle Hipps and Mattie Sue Allen Hipps, both deceased. Nancy worked for the L’Oréal Professional Salon Division. She was an avid painter who managed many shows for the Alamance Arts Council. She loved animals and going to the movies.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Garrett and wife Karen of Liberty, NC; a grandson, Geoffrey Hightower stationed in the Philippines with the Peace Corps; a sister Paula Cole of Charlotte, her dear friend James Kithcart; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Garrett Hightower and a sister, Patricia Smathers.
