Nancy Helen Phipps, 95, of Elkhart and formerly of Bloomington passed away on Sunday August 7, 2016 at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart after a short illness. Helen was born November 16, 1920 in Lawrence County, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Inman and Frona (Blake) Brock.
Helen had worked at RCA and loved to knit and crochet. She also loved to make lap blankets for residents of local nursing homes and did so up until her illness several weeks ago.
Survivors include her son Dennis (Claudia) Phipps of Vandalia, MI, 2 grandsons; Deron (Bridget) Phipps, and Derek (Melanie) Phipps, 4 great granddaughters; Maggie, Grace, Natalie and Charlotte, 2 half sisters; June Wisely and Imogene Brock and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gardy Rex Phipps, 3 brothers; Lee Inman, Bobby Brock, and Jimmy Brock, and 2 half-sisters; Betty Lewis and Berdenia May.
