Ms. Nancy Gray Swiggett age 86 of Atlanta, Georgia formerly of Greensboro, NC passed peacefully on October 29, 2016.
Nancy is survived by two brothers, Doug Swiggett of Greensboro, NC & Sidney Swiggett of Williamsburg, VA. Additionally, she is survived by numerous nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her longtime friend & companion Martha Moore, along with six sisters & two brothers.
Nancy was an avid fast pitch softball player and was offered a contract with one of the first national traveling women’s softball leagues. She played shortstop for over 15 years with the Loreli Ladies fast pitch softball team in Atlanta, Georgia. Nancy’s uniform, bat, glove & shoes are on display at the Dekalb County sports Hall of Fame. She was also an avid bowler and a Senior Olympics participant and won numerous awards for each.
