Nancy was born March 21, 1947, in Trenton, New Jersey to Marion M. Wieger and Russell F. Budden, Jr. A few years later Marion and Russell divorced and Marion married Nicholas Pesce and he adopted Nancy.
While she was a young girl, the family moved from New Jersey to White Rock, New Mexico where her father worked on the Manhattan project as a pipefitter. They lived there for only a short time before moving to Aiken, South Carolina where the young family welcomed Nancy’s brother Michael Pesce in 1952. The family finally settled in Oak Ridge, TN and had another daughter Patricia Pesce in 1960. Nancy attended St. Mary’s Catholic school and Oak Ridge High School, where she was a drum majorette.
Nancy married Dale A. Skidmore, Sr in 1964.
After the divorce Nancy began working for Sterns and Rogers, who built the Craig Power Station, as a Financial Cost Analysis. While not fond of the cold Colorado winters Nancy developed a great love for the beautiful places in Northwestern CO. This is also where she developed a passion for horses and cross country and equestrian riding.
Nancy met Charles (Chuck) B. Hogg in Huntsville, AL while working on the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant. Nancy was a Senior Cost Engineer. From Huntsville they traveled to Los Angeles and then to San Francisco working for Bechtel Power Corp. They were married in January 1994 in Oak Ridge TN. The company transferred them to Buenos Aires, Argentina for a couple of years followed by a move to Sao Paulo, Brazil. She had to learn Spanish and Portuguese to work with the horse club she was a member. In those countries Nancy continued her passion with horses finally bringing two horses from Brazil to Birmingham, AL. After a couple of years Nancy wanted her own barn to keep the horses with her resulting in a move to Eatonton, GA. She continued her riding as well as maintaining her two horses. Following her husband’s retirement, they moved to Del Webb in Greensboro, GA and travelled on river boats in Europe and Egypt.
Nancy is preceded in death by her father Nicholas Pesce. She is survived by her husband Charles Hogg, her mother Marion Pesce, brother Michael Pesce, sister Patti Pesce, and son Dale Skidmore (Jamie).
