Nancy D. Chen, 72, Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday December 20, 2020 at 9:35 p.m. at her residence, Huntington, IN.
Mrs. Chen was born May 7, 1948, in Huntington, IN, to Rex and Faye Bell (Craig) Hughes. Her parents preceded her in death. Nancy married Shawn Chen on August 20, 1972. He resides in Huntington.
Nancy graduated from Mississinewa High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from Marion College and a master’s degree from Ball State University. She was a member of College Park United Brethren Church and she participated in the Bell Choir. Nancy was also a former member of the Erie Band. She was a seamstress and music teacher in Hillsboro County, FL. She owned and operated Belles & Beaus Bridal Shop for many years in Huntington.
Along with her husband, Shawn, she is survived by two sons, Samuel (Emi Kagawa) Chen, Knoxville, TN, and Isaac (Jane) Chen, San Diego, CA,
Also surviving are two brothers, David Hughes, Florida, and Randall Hughes, Marion, IN; one sister, Brenda (Ward) Lewis, Fort Wayne, IN, and one grandchild, Daniel Chen, San Diego, CA.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Michael Hughes.
