Nancy D. Forti, 89, of Lynnfield, passed peacefully on December 22, 2020, while surrounded by family. She was the loving wife of the late Donald S. Forti and the daughter of the late Fortunato and Anna (Serino) Verro.
Nancy was raised in the North End of Boston and attended Boston Public Schools. She met her true love Donald at a Newman Club dance, and they were married on September 12, 1954. Eventually, the couple moved to Winthrop, MA and raised 6 children. She loved taking the kids to the beach and hosting lively family dinners. Once the children left to start families of their own, Nancy got a job at Filene’s Basement and worked there as an associate for many years. However, most of her time was devoted to spoiling her sixteen grandchildren.
Whether you called her Mom, Ma, Mama, Nana or Grand Nan, she always found a way to make you smile, make you laugh, and make you think. She especially enjoyed humor. You knew it was funny when she exclaimed, “What a riot!” Moreover, it was her quiet dignity and her spiritual grace that defined her as a person. She had a kind word for everyone.
She is survived by children: Donald S. Forti,Jr and wife Jean of Grafton, WI, Maria Nogueira and husband Anthony of Merrimac, MA,, Stephen Forti and wife Melanie of Lynn, MA, Frank Forti and wife Sue of Burlington, MA, Mark Forti and wife Mary of West Roxbury, MA, Andrea Braconnier and husband Mark of Lynnfield, MA.
Grandchildren: Donald C. Forti and wife Megan, Andrew Forti, Matthew Nogueira, Alyssa Nogueira and fiancé Joe Williams, Tess Nogueira, Peter Nogueira, Alex Forti and wife Krista, Megan (Forti) Ward and wife Charlotte, Derek Forti, Greg Forti, Courtney Forti, Madeleine Forti, Lydia Forti, Daniel Braconnier, Meryl Braconnier, and Lauren Braconnier.
Great Grandchildren: Leo Forti, Roman Verro Forti (deceased).
She is survived by a sister in law Joan Dion of Huntington Beach. CA and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Pasquale Verro & Katherine Aloise.
