Nancy S. Bacon, 87, of Flagstaff, formerly of the Bellflower, Calif., area, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the Olivia White Hospice Home.

Mrs. Bacon was born May 19, 1920, in Pasadena, Calif., to Arthur and Nina Streeter. She was proud to be a Mayflower descendant, part of the Folger and Coffin family. She was a graduate of the University of Santa Barbara. She was a school teacher for many years. Nearly 10 years ago, she and her husband moved to Flagstaff to be closer to family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and horseback riding. Mrs. Bacon was known for her kindness and genuine sweetness to others, always wanting to make life simpler for others. She loved and cared for anyone and everyone she would come in contact with.

Mrs. Bacon is survived by her son Dr. John L. Bacon (Victoria); three grandchildren; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Leonard Bacon, and daughter Betsy Bacon Dover.
