DeVries, Nancy Adele of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Age 71. Nancy was born in Chicago, IL on April 28, 1942, the daughter of the late Arthur and Adele Nickel Grunwaldt. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Christian Women’s Club of Kalamazoo, the Portage Women’s Club, the Kalamazoo Community Choir and was a 4H Leader.
She was a very creative person who enjoyed cooking, quilting, painting and reading. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Jack B. DeVries; three daughters, Kathryn William Cody of Kalamazoo, Alice Jon Tomer of Galesburg and Christine Sean Brady of Portage; six grandchildren, Ethan Cody, Alex and Bryce Ballentine, Ryan and Lucy Tomer and Shawnie Brady; one sister, Carolyn Richard Kuehl Vestal of Kalamazoo; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Tyler Ballentine; and her brother, Paul Grunwaldt.
