Nancy Ann (Whitehead) Stanley, 92, of Greensburg and Manor, passed away, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at her home. Nancy was born August 21, 1924 in Greensburg a daughter of the late Charles and Martha Jo (Mathias) Whitehead.
She was a 1941 graduate of Greensburg High School and received a BS degree from Bethany College, West Virginia and had also attended Carnegie Mellon. She worked as a reading assistant at the Greensburg Junior High and as a science teacher at Hempfield Junior High.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis A. Stanley, Jr; her sister, Betty Jane Whitehead and a brother, Charles D. Whitehead.
She is survived by her children, Mary Jo Stanley and her partner, Kirk Zinck; Timothy Stanley and his fiancé, Jackie Mignogna, and Melinda Boozel and her husband Dennis; four grandchildren, Danielle Sethman; Michelle Joyce; Chrissy Deem and Joshua Deem; also seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was a dog lover, avid reader and enjoyed walking, swimming at Findley Lake, NY and cross-country skiing with her husband, family and friends.
Nancy’s volunteer work included the Girl Scouts of America as a leader and as an election worker in her local precinct.
