Nancy A. McNamara, 85, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. McNamara was born on June 26, 1934, in Axtell, KS, to the late Herman Joseph and Anna Belle (Campbell) Pfister.   Nancy married James P. McNamara on April 24, 1954, and he survives.

Nancy was a graduate of Huntington Catholic High School in 1951 and attended Saint Francis College.  She worked for Waterfield Insurance, Hohe Insurance and Bucher-Zahn-Robinson Insurance.  She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, AARP, National M. S. Society, Forever Friends chapter of the Extension Homemakers Association, and the local chapter of the Melody Makers of Indiana. Nancy also volunteered with the Open Door outreach project at St. Mary Church.

An intellectually curious person, Nancy was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed taking classes on subjects as varied as automobile maintenance and cake decorating. She made wine and candles, was an expert seamstress, and liked to build things.

Along with her husband, James, she is survived by three sons, James McNamara, Bloomington, IN, Steven (Gretchen) McNamara, Victoria, MN, Daniel (Julie) McNamara, Fort Wayne, IN; two daughters, Sherry McNamara, Huntington, IN, Karen (Robin) Roush, Roanoke, IN; and one brother, Michael (Shirley) Pfister, Denver, CO.  Nancy is survived by 8 grandchildren, Wayne (Emily) Myers, Fort Wayne, Rachael Hunckler, Eugene, OR, Parker (Kara) Roush, Nashville, TN, Anna McNamara, Moscow, ID, Nancy McNamara, Chicago, IL, Christopher McNamara, Minneapolis, MN, Peter McNamara, Fort Wayne, Sally McNamara, Fort Wayne; and four great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sally Hunckler; son-in-law, Joseph Hunckler; and one grandson, Nicholas Myers.
