Nan P. Klinedinst, 87, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Saturday evening, February 20, 2010 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman, Michigan. Nan was born March 13, 1922 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the eldest of seven children born to Gilbert and Cynthia (Roberts) Harder.
She graduated from Edwardsburg High School, and on February 8, 1941, she married Herbert Klinedinst. They moved to Three Oaks in 1958 and owned The Dunes Furniture Store in Sawyer, Michigan for 38 years. Herb preceded her in death on July 7, 2008 after 67 years of marriage. Nan cared for her home, was a devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother, giving of herself to her family. She was a member of the Three Oaks United Methodist Church and served as President of the United Methodist Women and President of the Three Oaks District of the United Methodist Church.
She was a Past President of the 42nd Rainbow Division National Auxiliary. Nan volunteered in her community as an organizer of the local CROP Walk, and was a member of the Three Oaks Community Service Club and Loan Closet, as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling, cross stitch, and family genealogy. Survivors include her son Bernie (Linda) Klinedinst of Three Oaks; grandchildren, Sheila (Johnny) Pappa; Michael (Tracy) Kjergaard; Debbie (Shawn) Cram and Chad Harrington; great grandchildren, Nicole, Brittany, Abigail, Hannah, Haley, Lindsey, Luke, Kelsey, and Lauren; sisters, Harriet (Kenny) Armentrout and Janet Harder of The Colony, Texas.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Harrington on March 3, 1998 and brothers, Gilbert, Bob, Jim and Billy.
