Naldo M. Pocobello, 80, of Wallingford, departed this life on Monday, May 2, 2011 at home with his family at his side. He was the loving husband of Gloria (D’Agostino) Pocobello.
Naldo was born on November 16, 1930, in North Haven, CT, a son of the late Louis and Giacinta (Udine) Pocobello.
He graduated from the Center Grammar School in North Haven and Lyman Hall High School of Wallingford before his studies at Stone College in New Haven.
Naldo completed his Tool, Die and Gauge Making Apprenticeship at the Greist Manufacturing Company on January 27, 1955 to become a Journeyman. He went on to work for the Hamden Manufacturing Company, Stanley Judd of Wallingford as Tool Room Supervisor for ten years, U.S. Repeating Arms Company of North Haven and completed his working career as the Plant Engineer for Quantum of Wallingford from which he retired in 1993.
Naldo served in the National Guard, 102nd Army Band, New Haven, CT and helped to form the committee for the Town of Wallingford Household Hazardous Waste Collections Day.
He loved vacationing on Cape Cod with his family, he was passionate about fishing and boating and had been a life member of the Indian Neck Yacht Club, and was active with the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Assoc., the Industrial Management Club, and the Central CT Stripers Club.
