Nadine died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Bryan Medical Center East Campus in Lincoln.

Nadine was born October 22, 1917 in Madison, NE. She was the daughter of George and Mary (Vlazny) Ray. She graduated from Madison High School in 1935. On September 9, 1941 she was married to Earl R. Werth. She lived in Madison all of her life until she moved to Lincoln in 2004 to be close to her daughter and family. She enjoyed her friends and the staff at Country House in Lincoln.

Nadine was a long-term member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary Firemen. She was an accomplished cook, especially baked goods, who graciously shared the fruits of her labor with family and friends. She enjoyed crafts of all types and was very creative in her endeavors. She took great joy in decorating her home for all of the holidays, often utilizing her home made crafts. She was a big fan of football, especially, the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She also took joy in stamp and coin collecting. One of the highlights of the year for Nadine was hosting the annual Ray family Christmas party. Family members played the accordion and guitar while singing filled the air.

Nadine worked at Marie’s Beauty Shop, Gabelman’s Variety store, which was later called Kelly’s Variety Store, and Brown – McDonald’s then devoted herself to raising her daughter. Later she worked for the City of Madison at the city office.

Nadine is survived by her daughter Joni and son-in-law Dale Gebhard, two grandsons, Andrew Langemeier and Angelia Lewis, and Joel Langemeier and Leslie Walters, and one great granddaughter Bianca Langemeier, all of Lincoln. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Ray; her husband, Earl; a still born daughter, Julie; two brothers, Tom and Dick Ray; two sisters, Affie (Ray) Morrissey and Caroline (Ray) Donscheski.
