Nadine was born in Pierce, NE, on May 28, 1918 to Frank and Bessie (Story) Schulz. When she was 6 months old, the family moved to Norfolk. She attended Norfolk Public Schools, graduating in 1936.
Nadine began her retail career that same year, working at Woolworths Five and Dime, and retiring from Wetzel and Truex Jewelers in 1973.
On September 4, 1938 Nadine married Jean B. Truex in the First Congregational Church at 9th & Norfolk Ave. Jean passed away May 19, 1984.
Nadine was a lifetime member of First Congregational, and was baptized there in 1918. She was also a member of NE Rural Carrier Auxiliary, Daughters of the Nile, PEO Chapter HU, Delphians John G. Neihardt Chapter, and PTA. She enjoyed serving her community and volunteered at Lutheran Community Hospital, delivered Meals on Wheels, and worked at The Food Pantry.
She is survived by 2 daughters and 3 sons: Patricia (Lowell) Jenny of Norfolk, Richard (Nancy) Truex of Charles Town, West Virginia, Kristine (Jeff) Koch of Lincoln, Robert (Sarah) Truex of Salina, KS, and Aaron (Jessica) Truex of Norfolk.
Grandchildren: Jan (Tracy) Countryman, Michael Jenny, Beth (Todd) Kurtenbach, Tami (Donovan) Key, Aimee Truex, Joshua (Sarah) Truex, Margaret Truex, Jesse Truex, Adora Truex, Austin Truex, Ethan Truex.
Great-grandchildren: Jenna Countryman, Christopher Countryman, Ryan Jenny, Sarah Jenny, Alex Kurtenbach (fiancée Mariah Karlin), Adrianna Cleveland, Justin Seitz, Christian Seitz, Jean-Luke Gigliotti.
Great-great-granddaughter: Alexis Cleveland; sister-in-law, Evalyn Schulz.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Susan McCormick and son-in-law Eddie McCormick, brother Norman Schulz, and sister Eileen Bisnett and granddaughter-in-law, Denyse Jenny.
