Nadine Sullivan

On November 25, 2022, J. Nadine Sullivan went to join Sully, her beloved husband of 53 years to continue their adventure together. As an Air Force wife, she was the perfect complement to B/Gen Sullivan as he advanced through his career. Their travels allowed her to meet and develop friendships that she maintained throughout her life. A VIP patron of Hallmark, she is remembered by hundreds for birthday cards always including a personal message written in her beautiful hand. Her correspondence went as far back as Washington High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The artistic side of Nadine was expressed by her love of photography, painting, and interior design. Another of Nadine’s loves was her 1993 Cadillac Sedan Deville which could be seen on Thursdays driving slightly above the speed limit to the Commissary at Eglin AFB. She was known at the Commissary as “mama”.  This endearment extends to several families of diabetic squirrels in her back yard where she fed honey-roasted peanuts for decades.

Her other love was Okaloosa Island. Even with their busy lives, she and Sully spent five decades on the beach sharing their beachside cabana with family and friends.

Born on Christmas day 1924 in Indianapolis, Jaunita Nadine was the gift we all received. One month shy of her 98th birthday she passed peacefully at home. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Glenn Ray, her parents, Edna and John Miller, and her five siblings Lyndhal, Leneva, Evelyn, Mildred, and Caroline. She is survived by her son Ray Jr and her grandson Charlie, who may potentially be seen driving the beloved Caddy. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Two of Nadine’s favorite charities are the Ronald Reagan Ranch and Silver Sands School in Ft Walton Beach, Florida.
