Nadine Braley, 88, the wife of Edward Braley of Waukee, Iowa, passed away at the Legacy Point Care Center on October 20 2021.

Nadine was born on a farm near Manson, Iowa on November 20, 1932, the daughter of Fred and Alice Zoss. She was a student in a one room school through eighth grade when she entered Manson High School, graduating with Ed in 1951. She worked in Fort Dodge at the Savings And Loan until she married Edward in October of 1953. She then joined Edward in Iowa City where he was a pre-dental student at the University of Iowa. Their first daughter Debra Dell was born in Oct. of 1954. Their second daughter, Dori Lyn was born in January 1958. After Ed’s graduation from Dental School, they moved to Oakland, CA and then to Stockton, where they spent two years in the Navy Dental Corps. They returned to Des Moines, where Ed started his practice in Pediatric Dentistry. Their third daughter, DeeAnn, was born in January of 1966.

After retirement they spent 12 years at Twin Lakes near their home town and friends of Manson. They later moved back to the Des Moines area and settled in a duplex at Legacy Pointe in Waukee, to be close to family and friends. They also enjoyed the winter months in Arizona where they formed new friends as well.

Nadine was an excellent cook, a wonderful mother, devoted wife and a great friend to many. She was especially fond of the pets she had throughout her lifetime.

Nadine is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, LuVerne and Leonard, a younger sister Gloria and daughter, Dori.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Edward and two daughters Debbie Braley and DeeAnn Braley.
