Mrs. Myrtle Treadwell Posey Harris, 94, of Newnan passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014. She was born October 21, 1919 in Cordele, GA to the late J.K. Treadwell and Carrie Springer Moore Treadwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John E. Posey and her second husband, Radford Harris. Myrtle grew up in Carroll County before making her home in Newnan. She was known for her baking and many people were the beneficiaries of her cakes. She was an admired Christian lady who was a longtime, active member of the First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School class.Survivors include children, Mickey (Connie) Posey, Juanita (Joe) Snellgrove, Diane Posey, Jerry (Melissa) Posey; siblings, Rev. Franklin Treadwell, Sybil Warren; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
