Myrtle ‘MicI. Crichton 88 of Shannon died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Provina St. Joseph Center. She was born July 28, 1922 in Libertyville, Il the daughter of the late Charles & Myrtle (Kapheim) Jochheim. She was a 1940 graduate of Libertville High School. Mic married Willard J. Crichton on January 31, 1942 in Libertyville, he died October 23, 1997.
Together they had owned & operated the Shannon Locker, also had worked as the Ward Clerk at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Macon, Missouri. She was a member of the St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society in Shannon. She had been a Girl Scout leader, past president of the Legion Auxiliary Post 379 where she was always recognized for being a Gold Star Mother.
She was an officer for the Shannon/Lanark Food Pantry, and helped out at the Carroll County Help Center. Mic enjoyed crafts, gardening, canning, crocheting, baking, playing solitare, and helping with community service.
She is survived by her 2-daughters; Joyce Auer of Arlee, Mt., Linda (Ken) Schutt of Spicewood, TX, 2-sons; Rick (Rose Marie) Crichton of Shannon, Bill (Dawn) Crichton of Lena, 6-grandchildren; Jennifer, Melisa, Michael, Tiffani Deemer, Timothy, Neta Lamas, 15 great grandchildren, 3-sisters; Ethel (Doug) Getchell of Jacksonville, FL., Norma Kick of Libertville, IL and Barbara (Mike) Fagan of Shannon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Charles, 3-brothers and 2-sisters.
