Clemence “Myriam” Auguste Pargade age 89 of Alford passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Marianna Health and Rehab Center after a short illness. She was born, February 11, 1922 in Landes, France and came to the United States in 1949 as a trapeze artist performer. In her professional career, she stared as “Myriam France” and to her friends she is known as Myriam. She traveled extensively in this country and foreign countries, as well. At age 52, she discontinued her high wire performances and settled in Sneads, Florida for a short time. In 1964 she purchased a home site in Alford, Florida, built a small home, taught gymnastic classes and volunteered with the Jackson County School System. Myriam loved God, the land, her pets, gardening and making wine from the grapes from her vineyard. In her modest home, she lived a healthy, peaceful life with a very grateful heart for her many blessings. She leaves no living relatives but many close friends who loved her and enjoyed her sharing her interesting and cultural life.
