Murray Newton, born August 25, 1929, died in his home in Raleigh on September 21, 2018. Murray received his undergraduate degree with highest honors from Rutgers University. He met his beloved wife Colleen in 1951 at a dance at the YMCA in Montclair, NJ. He worked his entire life as a CPA and entrepreneur, applying his knowledge, skills and work ethic toward the success of various businesses. He is survived by his wife Colleen Newton, daughter Deborah Newton Sheppard (Frank Sheppard), son Kevin Newton (Lynn Newton), and son Lloyd Newton (Erica Zendt). Four grandchildren, and one great-grandson and a second due also survive him in November. His grandchildren are-Paul Sheppard (Melissa Rich), Mark Sheppard, Bryan Newton (Rachel Newton), Hannah Newton (Graydon Lyon Lockard, III) and great-grandchild Graydon Lyon Lockhart, IV.
Murray was a loving, chivalrous, solicitous, husband who loved his entire family.
