Muriel E. (Mrs. Arnold) Barr, 84, of rural Ottawa, died October 15, at the Ottawa Pavilion.
Mrs. Barr was born on January 11, 1922, in Chicago to Dr. G. W. and Magdalene (Ludwig) Schelm. She received her Bachelors Degree from Northwestern University in Evanston where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She married Arnold S. Barr on Nov. 27, 1943 Chicago. She taught school for two years in Grand Ridge, then for 22 years in the Ottawa Grade Schools.
Mrs. Barr was a member of Jobs Daughters in Ogden, Utah, later in Ottawa, and a Past Matron and fifty-year member of the Mary E. Chapter, Order of the Easter Star. She is a past member of the Ottawa University Women.
She is survived by her husband, one son Arnold (Norma) of Florissant, Missouri, a granddaughter Emily Barr, and a grandson David Barr.
