Southington – Mrs. Muriel M. (Cyr) Cavanaugh, age 89, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 19, 2016 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the widow of Joseph C. Cavanaugh.
Mrs. Cavanaugh was born July 4, 1926 in Portage Lake, Maine a daughter of the late Mack and Bertha (Vaillancort) Cyr. She formerly worked at U.S. Time and Bedfords. She enjoyed playing Bingo, knitting, reading, cooking and loved being a gracious host.
Mrs. Cavanaugh is survived by two daughters: Karen Kish and her husband Andrew of Naugatuck and Gail Mihalakos of Plantsville, eight sisters: Rita Cicchetti, Jeanine Daigle, Geneva Guerette and her husband Herman, Jacqueline Dupont, Madeline Normandin, Marilyn Butkus, Marie Mazzalupo and her husband Frank and Frances St. Hilaire and her husband Donald, a brother: Donald Cyr and his wife Wanita, grandchildren: Scott Kish and his wife Sarah, Kate Kish Purcaro and her husband Anthony, Kelly Kish Landaal and her husband Matthew, Alysia Mihalakos and Elizabeth Mihalakos and her Fiancé Marc Mojica, great grandchildren: Aiden Purcaro, Cali Purcaro, M.J. Mojica and Colin Landaal, 54 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters: Conrad, Lucille, Robert, Roger, Reginald, Velma, Percy and Georgette.
