Ms. Toka M. Stanley, 44, of Elkhart, was found passed away in her home after a sudden illness at 9:26 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013. March 10, 1969 – Aug. 11, 2013. She was born in Elkhart on March 10, 1969, to Leland W. “Lee” and Tokalee (Papa) Stanley. They survive in Elkhart.
Also surviving is her spouse, Larry W. Huff of Elkhart; son Corey W. (Brooke Perry) Huff of White Pigeon, Mich.; daughter Shonda M. Brown of Visalia, Calif.; brothers Scott A. Penninger and Leland W. Jr. (Toni) Stanley, both of Elkhart; and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Buster and Ruth Stanley and Luie and Madanna Papa. A celebration of Toka’s life will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart. In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation will follow the services.
Toka was employed at Morgan Thermal Ceramics of Elkhart at the time of her death. An avid animal lover, she also belonged to the Humane Society of Elkhart County and the Humane Society of St. Joseph County. She enjoyed collecting figurines, making silk floral arrangements and spending time with her family and her beloved pets.
