Shirley Coleman, born August 25th, 1933, passed away Thursday, February 24th, 2022, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel (Barnhart) and Clairon K. West; sisters, Erma Cheney, Naomi Welty, Margy West and the love of her life, her husband, Henry Coleman. After high school she married her first husband, SMSgt Roger W. Davison, and traveled the United States and Panama along his side for 24 years as a military wife and mom.

During this marriage she had her three daughters; Patricia, Sandra and Judith, and acquired lifelong friends that she would revisit later in her senior years. She held great pride in her daughters and their families. In her later years, she travelled to California and Texas to visit with friends and family, to attend weddings and to spend time with loved ones. During her years in Florida, she enjoyed volunteering at the Capital Regional Medical Center and was so proud to receive the award for Volunteer of the Year in 2004. She was always known to bring a smile to her co-volunteers, the employees, and the patients. She leaves behind a host of dear friends that she made through the years of volunteering, quilting, creative craft projects and card playing.

Survivors include daughters, Patricia Horwath (husband, Rick – San Diego, CA), Sandra Bressler (husband, John – Sacramento, CA) and Judith Davison (wife, Joanna Norman – Tallahassee, FL); grandsons, Brandon Horwath (wife, Charity – Hemet, CA), Matthew Bressler (wife, Lisa – Pioneer, CA) and Daniel Bressler (wife, Rebecca – Sacramento, CA); and great-grandsons, Devon and Joseph – Hemet CA; along with numerous cousins who loved her dearly.
