Sequoya attended Western Harnett High School. She continued her education at CCCC for phlebotomy and became licensed. She was a volunteer for Red Cross and worked at Laurel of Chatham in Pittsboro, N.C.
Sequoya was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Timothy Lowery, maternal grandfather, David Moore, uncle, Alfonso Kinley, and paternal grandfather, Riley Graham.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Nadirah Sanaii Black; mother, Novella Lowery; father, Dwaine Graham; one sister, Antaiya Graham; maternal grandmother, Inella Lowery; paternal grandmother, Dorrette Graham. and a special friend Breon Black and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
