Mabel Elizabeth (Conry) Battle was born to Ruby Conry on January 19, 1928, in Savannah, Georgia, where she grew up with her sister, Barbara (Conry) Raeford and brother, Louis Conry.
She later moved to Brooklyn, New York in the 1940’s, where she later began a life with her late husband, Theodore Battle and started a family. Mabel was a servant leader and cared for many children. Her attention was not given to only her own family but to all children within the community. She was a community giver and she ensured that every child she came across was loved.
On Monday, December 14, 2020, she answered the Master’s final call and transitioned into Paradise, where she now joins her mother, husband, and daughter, Thea Battle. Left behind to mourn her passing but embrace and cherish her legacy are her sons, Allan, Adam, Thomas, Ray, Rodney and Darren; daughters, Wanda and Cher; daughters-in-law, Joan and Alfreda; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
