Kathryn Lynette Coatney, 62, of Salem, Illinois passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital, Richmond Heights, Missouri.
She was born November 30, 1957 in Salem, the daughter of John D. Sands and Joyce (Rankin) Heyduck. She married Gary Coatney and he survives in Salem.
In addition to her parents John Sands and wife Carolyn of Salem, and Joyce Heyduck of Salem, she is also survived by her son, Landon Beasley and wife Ann of Carbondale; a daughter-in-law, Kris Slonski and husband Craig of Wisconsin, along with grandchildren Kassandra, Neal, Karyssa, Connor, Owen and Gwen; her brother, Robert Sands of Salem, her sister Rebecca Sands of Salem and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her three sons, Patrick, Adam and William “Bill” Beasley.
Kathryn worked at Casey General Store in Salem for many years. She attended the Open Arms Fellowship Church of Salem. She enjoyed working on her family genealogy, cooking, and watching hummingbirds. Most of all, Kathryn cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
