Johnnie Bell Vause Mullinax, 91, was called home by her Heavenly Father on February 24, 2017, surrounded by her children. A lifetime resident of Tallahassee, Florida, she was born on September 1, 1925, to John L. and Myrtie Lee Chason Vause. The third born of ten brothers and sisters, Johnnie Bell raised her three children as a single parent. She retired from Centel/Sprint after 47 years as a telephone operator. She was a faithful and long time member of Freedom Church First Assembly of God. She was a friend and second Mom to many and completely devoted to her family. She will be remembered for her wonderful Southern Style cooking. Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Everett Vause, O.D. Vause and Jake Vause; four sisters, Delois Gray, Winnell Harrison, Addie Glisson and her twin, deceased at birth. Cherishing her memory are her three children, Donna Honcell (Jimi), Marty Mullinax (Laura), and Judy Mullinax; grandchildren, Ryan Lett (LeAnn), Lauren Mullinax, Nicole Honcell Kimbrell (Josh), Justin Honcell (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Jillian Lett, Ava Lett and Georgia Grae Kimbrell. She is also survived by sisters, Frances “Ronnie” Bruner and Marilyn Ingram; as well as sisters-in-law, Ann Vause and Georgia Vause. Many beloved nieces and nephews also survive and cherish her memories.
