Fannie Mae Clemmons was born on April 1, 1931. She was the daughter of George Booker T. Washington and Eugenia Carswell. Fannie moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1949.
Fannie was married to Ulysee Clemmons and had seven children. Fannie worked at Best Grand Laundry and Tuchman Cleaners finally retiring after a prosperous career of 28 years from Indianapolis Public School System.
Fannie was affectionately known as Fannie, Old Lady, Granny, and Aunt Couder. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Fannie enjoyed working and going to the casino. She also enjoyed her family, cooking, and helping others. Her favorite tv shows were Wheel of Fortune, cowboy shows, and her soap operas. She was truly loved by her family and friends and will truly be missed.
On September 9, 2021 Fannie Mae Clemmons departed this life and went on to be with her heavenly father. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eugenia Carswell, father, Booker T. George Washington Chapman; sisters, Inez Howard and Rudy Chapman; brother, Dewitt Chapman, and husband, Ulysee Clemmons.
She is survived by one sister, Evelyn Raines; sons, James Clemmons (Sheryl), Ulysee Clemmons Jr.; daughters, Wilma Clemmons, Sharon Brooks (Delbert), Wanda Newton (Timothy); Teresa Page (Kent); Jackie Whitson (Rob), and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
