She was preceded in death by her parents;three sisters, Cynthnia Joyner, Janet Gurley, and Juanita Parks, two brothers, Kenneth Gurley and John McElya.
She leaves to cherish her memories: four children, James Pollard of Houston, Texas, Keadeenean Pollard and Kendel Pollard both of New Haven, CT, and Kayonna Hedspeth of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, Kapree, Clarissa, Natalia, Kaliesha, James, John, Matthew, Asyia and Solaria; two sisters, Emma Cash of North Carolina and Laverne McElya of Connecticut; one brother, Carl McElya of Connecticut; and a host of other relatives and friends.
