Cathi Jeanne Atkinson, age 67, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on January 21, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her children, extended family and friends. She truly earned the name Warrior Princess.

Cathi was born on September 23, 1950 to Reuel and Gean Meave Atkinson in Tallahassee, Florida. She graduated from Leon High School in 1969. A lifelong resident of Tallahassee, Cathi returned to school after her children were born and graduated from Florida State University with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 30 years and provided counseling to countless number of people who benefitted from her caring and compassionate expertise.

Cathi had so many amazing qualities and talents. She was a competitive tennis player for years and had a passion for music and singing. She was dedicated to caring for animals of all kinds. Not only did she have many pets of her own over the years, she was a foster mom for dogs and thoroughly enjoyed feeding birds and squirrels that would visit her back deck every morning.

Cathi was a very social person with a youthful spirit who loved life, had a contagious smile and magnetic personality which instantly drew people to her. She loved entertaining and opened her home for family and friends for all occasions. Her many sets of china and varied decorations for each holiday were legendary. Above all, her children and grandchildren were the center of her life.

Cathi is survived by her son Todd Robuck (wife Cheryl), Brooks Robuck Morris (husband Billy), her two “grandbabies” Harper and Hayden which she affectionately was known to comment “I love these babies,” and her beloved friend and co-worker Margie Craig. She is also survived by her sister Bindy Blatt (husband Mike) and Nancy Grigg (husband John). Nieces and nephews Shane Blatt, Chance Blatt (wife Liza), Tara Blatt Carter (husband Allen), Somer Grigg VanLandingham (husband Cody), Drew Grigg Westling (husband Greg), and nine great nieces and nephews. In addition, Cathi will be greatly missed by extended family and many close friends including her singing sisters, her yoga tribe and her meditation circle.

Cathi is preceded by her parents Reuel and Gean Meave Atkinson and her brother Reuel Atkinson.
