“Mom to two grown daughters that adored her, she always found great joy in time spent with her girls. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, carrying on traditions taught to her by her mother, and being with family. Becky was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.”

Ms. Becky Freeman, of Lanett, Alabama, peacefully passed away on Friday January 19th, 2018 at the Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome, Georgia.

Becky was born on August 12th, 1942 in Lanett, Alabama to the late Charles “Shorty” Freeman and Myra “Polly” Freeman. She was also preceded in death by her brother Doyle Freeman.

Becky is survived by her two daughters, Lisa (Marc) Riley of Aragon, GA, Cyndi (Charlie) Liles of Marietta, GA; five grandsons, Chris Stewart, Garrett Liles, Donald (Victoria) Riley, Marcus Riley, Christopher Riley; two great grandsons, Isaac Stewart, and Brayden Riley; her sister, Merry (Mark) Allen; one niece, Ashley Allen; two nephews, Casey Freeman, and Tyler Freeman; one great niece, Payson; and her sister in law, Darleen Freeman.

Becky graduated Valley High School in 1960 and moved to Atlanta to begin a 35+ year career with Equitable Insurance Company, from which she retired in 2005. After retirement, she moved back home to Lanett, and quickly became involved in several local community groups.

Becky was a dedicated, and active, member of the Huguley United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer, and could always be found cooking and serving at the church’s monthly Friday lunches. She was a humble lady who had a servant’s heart and loved to help out wherever she could.
