Willie Ruth Abner Dennis Ellington was born in Leon County, Florida on June 5, 1929, to the late James Henry Abner and the late Annie Caswell Alexander Abner.
She married Isaac Dennis on June 10, 1944, and they were blessed with five children. In December 1953, she married Willie Lee Ellington and to this union three children were born.
One of the highlights of her life was when she turned her life over to the Lord. She made sure that all of her children were introduced to the Lord. She matriculated through the public school system in Leon County. Throughout her life, she lived in Tallahassee, Connecticut, Alabama and eventually returned back to her home in Tallahassee.
Cherishing her blessed memories and mourning her passing is a sister, Johnnie Gibson of Tallahassee, Florida; children, Lillie Fleming-Owen (husband, Newton) of Tallahassee, Florida, Robert Dennis, Sr. of High Point, North Carolina, Baron Ellington of Harvest, Alabama, Kathleen Otey (husband, Onazean) of West Pointe, Tennessee; daughters-in-law, Connie Dennis of Anchorage, Alaska, Charlotte Dennis Davis of Raleigh, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Janice Ellington of Tallahassee, Florida; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
