She was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee and a 1946 graduate of Leon High School. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. She never met a stranger and never missed an opportunity to share her faith and her love for her family. She was a charter member of Forest Heights Baptist Church and was a current member of City Church of Tallahassee.
One of the things that pleased her most was to have her family sitting on the pew next to her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Mike Humphrey, her parents H.B. and Lila Barineau; her brothers, Gwynn Barineau, Lenis Barineau, Deloy Barineau; and sister, Rhona Mae Layfield. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Connie & Allen Boatright and Suzie & Dennis Elkins; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren (and one on the way). She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends Bea Sauls and Mary Youngblood.
