Virl June Hammerstrom, 92, passed away at home on October 19, 2015, while under the care of Big Bend Hospice. She was born June 30, 1923, in Armstrong, Iowa, to the late Joseph and Mabel Higgins.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Kelly and Nancy Hammerstrom; her sons, Rusty (Lizbet) Hammerstrom and Randy (Valerie) Hammerstrom. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a sister, Alice (Bill) Kennedy, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis “Mick” and Janice Hammerstrom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Tex” Hammerstrom and an infant daughter, Diana.
