Virginia Moore Hoskins, 93, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016, in Tallahassee. A daughter of the late Leon and Ollie Mae Moore, she was born February 3, 1923, in Sulligent, Alabama. She moved to Florida in 1935 and graduated from Leesburg High School in 1941. She immediately entered nurses training at Monroe Memorial Hospital in Ocala. After graduating in 1945, she moved to Tallahassee and worked at Johnson’s Hospital for a year until it closed. She then went to work at Southeastern/Central Telephone Company and retired in 1982 as a Divisional Commercial Representative. In June 1947, she married Ralph L. Hoskins, and together, they owned Hoskins Oil Company until 1978. An active member of Fellowship Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class, she attended until her health began to fail. Preceded in death by her husband of 48 years; parents, and siblings, Leon Moore, Jr., Colleen Griggs and Patricia L. Kibby, she is survived by several nieces and nephews in Florida and Tricia (Jon) Lee, and their daughter, Bella Victoria Lee, of Frisco, Texas.
