Violet Murriel Hanes, 87, of Tallahassee, unexpectedly entered Heaven January 18, 2017. She was born March 30, 1929, to the late Rivers Buford and Bessie Lee Watson Dillard, of Altha, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall C. Hanes “Mack” and a grandson, Robert Alan Guertin. She was a homemaker and a banking loan processor, retiring from Capital City Bank. Upon retiring, she and her husband moved to Altha, Florida and returned to Tallahassee in 1995. She was a devout Christian and an active member of First Baptist Church of Tallahassee for many years. She enjoyed reading, watching FSU Sports, and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Hanes Maddox (Kyle); granddaughter, Valerie Robinson; sister, June Cook Wilson (Frank); brother, Stanley Dillard (Bessie); as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
