Grandmother of Jake (Carolyn) Herron, Justin (Stephanie) Herron, Brianna Herron, Melissa (Travis) Fish, Derek ( Heather ) Thomas, Holly (Jacob) Schroeder, Kyle ( Kathleen) Thomas & Michael ( Jennifer) Thomas. Great Grandmother of Austin, Isaac, Abby, Amber, Jake Jr., Vinny, Danny, Jayce, Noah, Benjamín, Maddie, Andrew, Will, Jason & Stephanie. Daughter of the Late Mary (nee Cook) and John Skurka. Preceded in death by brother Clem Skurka, Sister Irene, Marie, Cecilia, Agnes and Betty.
After high school Violet attended modeling school in New York City, she then worked at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. She met her husband, Robert Hull Thomas at the Trianon Ballroom in Chicago. They were married and had 4 Children. They have resided in Palos Heights since 1952. She and her husband were the owners of Thomas Appliances and Furniture on 52nd and Halsted in Chicago, and later relocated to Chicago Ridge where Violet worked until the building was sold in 2014.
