Viola Jean Hollingsworth Raker, 83, of Tallahassee, peacefully fell asleep and awoke in the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 26, 2017, at the Big Bend Hospice House. The daughter of the late Ray William and Viola Burrie Curtis Hollingsworth, she was born April 23, 1934, in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. Her husband, James Herman Raker, preceded her in death in 1989. She had retired as a clerk from Electronic Data Systems, and was a devoted homemaker. She was also of the Baptist faith, and loved her Lord dearly. She enjoyed gardening, was involved in several card and game groups, the New Comer’s Club and the Yaya’s. She is survived by her children, David (Lea) Raker, Deborah (David) Iden, Chris Raker and Steven Raker; grandson, Samuel Raker; as well as numerous cousins and other extended family.
