Treva Fritzen died at her home on November 12, 2015 with family by her side. Treva Sliger was born in Sparta, Tennessee on October 23, 1934 to the late Norman Monroe and Maude Adele Sliger. She was married to Le Roy W. Fritzen on August 9, 1952 in La Porte, Indiana and their love endured until her death. As a married couple they settled in Rolling Prairie, Indiana and raised three daughters, Theresa (deceased) Brenda Helms (Joe) and Ramona. As a homemaker she worked tirelessly in her garden, canning and freezing fruits and vegetables. She enjoyed sewing and painting and worked with her husband on home improvement projects. Tired of cold winters and heavy snowfall the family relocated to Tallahassee, Florida in 1979. Mostly a stay-at-home mom, Treva was an artisan in many genres. She loved to crochet, quilt and paint. When her husband retired from Civil Service she also became his helper in home maintenance and repair. In 2010 she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, quickly reaching remission and undergoing a stem cell transplant at Shands in Gainesville, Florida. After three years the myeloma again forced her into aggressive treatment. Her strength and determination during her illness was unwavering. In addition to her husband Le Roy, and daughters Brenda and Ramona, Treva also leaves behind grandchildren, Jennifer McLoughlin, Christine Mills, and Kali Mills, Robert Helms (Lauren), Kathrinne Helms, Cynthia Helms and Timothy Helms; Great-grandchildren, Jasmine Escobedo, Savannah McLoughlin, Dominique Escamilla, Lulayla Allan, and twins that will arrive in April; and a great-great granddaughter, Bree Escobedo. She is also survived by her cat, Tuxedo. Siblings pre-deceasing her were Hulon Sliger, E. Wynell Sliger, Dorothy Easterday, and Reba Davenport. She is survived by one sister Dimple Tabor. Special thanks to Dr. Viral Bhanderi and his dedicated staff and Dr. Whit Oliver.
