Tamila Evdokimova, 79, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022, at home under the care of Big Bend Hospice and surrounded by her family. She was born April 12, 1942, in Odessa, Ukraine to Peter and Lubov Ositian Peleh.
She graduated from Odessa’s Pedagogical University and worked as a gymnastics coach in Odessa. Ms Evdokimova came to the United States in 1994 and had lived in Louisiana, California and North Carolina. She had resided in Tallahassee for the last three years. She was a very well known person as an Olympic coach for gymnasts.
She was Christian Orthodox and attended the Greek Orthodox Church in Tallahassee, as well as having her own home worship area. Ms. Evdokimova was a friendly lady who enjoyed entertaining guests in her home, was very helpful to others and had a host of friends. Her positive attitude was an inspiration to others. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, loved cats and dogs, enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and cooking. Ms. Evdokimova was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Sergiy Peleh.
She is survived by her stepson, Alex Dikiy; her daughter, Tetyana Surypnyk; brother, Alek (Natalia) Peleh; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
